Michael Thompson is a visionary and performance-focused leader with 20-plus years of experience building profitable businesses. With an exceptional track record in the Canadian technology and corporate marketplace, he is well known for his customer-centric approach, team building talent and ability to create a deep network of senior C-level relationships. Prior to ISB, Mr. Thompson was at the helm of a major Canadian company specializing in supply chain management and innovative 1:1 marketing technology solutions. Before that, he had been vice president of a top-tier travel and leisure company, where he drove record growth and created the largest wholly owned consumer travel business in North America with $1B of network sales. In addition to his leadership role at ISB, Mr. Thompson participates on several boards and committees, including the CEO Forum.
An outstanding leader with a deep wealth of insurance and risk management knowledge, Maeve brings 25 years of experience as a senior executive in the Canadian insurance industry. In her current role at ISB, she is responsible for driving growth while assisting customers across the continent meet the critical need for better efficiencies, cost-savings and accuracy in the processing of claims. Prior to ISB, Maeve held senior national positions within Canada's largest insurance brokerage, an independent adjusting firm, and a tier 1 commercial insurer. Through her strategic leadership roles and strong relationship-building skills, she has amassed an extensive cross-section of high-profile contacts spanning all levels of the insurance marketplace. Maeve is a Canadian accredited insurance broker, a designated Canadian risk manager, and a fellow of the Insurance Institute of Canada.
Todd Moore is the Vice President of ISB Cargo Theft and Specialty Risk Division. He manages a comprehensive cargo security program designed to assist insurance companies, commercial transportation companies and police agencies with cargo crime mitigation solutions. Todd is a retired Police Detective with 31 years policing service. He has extensive investigative experience working in the Intelligence, Organized Crime and Robbery Units. During this time, he coordinated several covert investigations involving confidential human sources, police agents, undercover operators and wiretap investigations. Todd is a designated Certified Security Professional (C.S.P.).
As SVP of ISB, Mr. Anderson brings an illustrious investigative background and unique expertise in the area of information management, marketing and business development. Since 2001, he has taken the reigns of the company's marketing efforts, and worked tirelessly to strengthen the quality and breadth of its many B2B partnerships across North America. Prior to joining ISB, Stephen honed his leadership skills as security advisor for a major building developer, coordinating security and public access at high-rise buildings in Toronto. He also managed an airport hotel staff of 30, liaising with federal authorities on many security-related investigations. In this role, he had full airport security clearance with the RCMP. A versatile and highly-skilled project director, Stephen oversaw construction and design of ISB's company headquarters in Milton, Ontario, equipping it with state-of-the-art security. He is a member of ASIS, the American Society of Industrial Security, IAAI, the International Association of Arson Investigators, HRPAO, the Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario (as well as its Manitoba counterpart HRMAM), and APRC, the Association of Professional Recruiters of Canada.
Ron Hartman has over 25 years of experience providing IT solutions to Fortune 500 companies. Ron is well versed in the issues and challenges faced in the world of product development. Prior to joining ISB, Ron held the role of Director, Insurance Services with ASAP Secured where he was instrumental in negotiating national Enterprise Services Agreements with insurance and restoration companies. Ron has held senior positions as National Account Executive and Senior Account Manager with global technology companies focused on providing solutions to companies in the insurance, transportation, banking and retail industries. Ron's key strengths include relationship building, identifying new opportunities, requirements gathering, documentation and strategic product planning. Ron holds an Honours BA from York University.
Sarah joins ISB with over thirteen years of experience in human capital management, product & platform development, predictive analytics, risk assessment and digital transformation. Sarah manages all corporate partnerships within the background screening space and offers services including privacy compliance, transformation consulting, and integration project management, while fostering both current and prospective client relationships.
The addition of Sarah enhances ISB's continued commitment to better service our clients and grow our employment background screening division. Sarah is Chair of the Canadian NAPBS Communications Committee and sits on the NAPBS Canada Chapter Board of Directors. Her involvement in NAPBS is part of ISB's commitment to industry best practices in screening and compliance. She also writes for the NAPBS Journal and hr.com. Sarah holds a Specialized Honours Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from York University, certifications in Marketing from Ryerson University, Research Ethics Certification and Payroll & Legislation certifications from the Canadian Payroll Association.
Carl began his career as a Regional Director of Operations in the retail industry transitioning to Human Resources. He later entered the security field as an investigator, interrogator, and polygraph examiner for an international security group.
He is the former Chief Security Officer and Corporate Director of Global Protective Services for a Fortune 500 company. He has also held the position of founder of The Prelo Group, LLC - a private business protection consulting firm servicing the retail, hospitality, dining, distribution, and healthcare industries in both for-profit and nonprofit sectors. Mr. Diaz was also a senior partner and business developer for Background Screening and Security Solutions, LLC and Vice President of Human Resources and Federal Compliance, and Founder of The Cedalius Group, LLC, an accredited Consumer reporting agency.
Carl has worked with several legal firms as a loss prevention disciplines practitioner and expert witness and has held the position as Adjunct Professor of Criminal Justice for American Intercontinental University.
Some of his professional memberships include the National Restaurant Association’s Loss Prevention Executive Study Group, LP Solutions Providers, United Against Fraud, the National Loss Prevention Group, The Law Enforcement Retail Partnership Network, and the Background Screening and Due Diligence Professionals. He is a long-standing member of the Society of Human Resource Management.
In addition, Mr. Diaz is a member of ASIS International, The Loss Prevention Foundation, the NFSSC, NCCR, NRF, and the National Association of Chiefs of Police. He holds various security and loss control certifications, including Certified Anti-Terrorist Specialist.
Ellen has over 20 years of executive-level operational, financial, and compliance leadership experience in both the corporate and nonprofit arenas. With a focus on the maximization of mission impact, Ellen oversees the functional aspects of ISB Global in the United States. She is also an adjunct professor at several universities, specializing in forensic accounting, cost accounting, and healthcare finance. She is an active participant in multiple professional organizations and has an MBA in Accounting, a PhD in Organizational Management, and a Graduate Certification in Healthcare Management. In her downtime, Ellen advises and provides professional development for nonprofit boards.
Sandra Burns has 23 years of experience in the background and drug screening industry. She has held many leadership positions throughout her career, including Vice President of Account Strategy, Director of Sales, and Director of Business Development. Ms. Burns brings a wealth of knowledge to Human Resource Departments, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS). Throughout her career, she has demonstrated the ability to dissect organizational needs and create strategic solutions that become a true competitive advantage. As a long-term expert within the industry, Sandra has earned a reputation for setting high-quality standards.
Ms. Burns was on the steering committee for the formation of the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS)— currently referred to as PBSA - the organization that oversees the certification and credentials of the industry.
Melissa joins ISB with over ten years of experience in background screening, drug testing, legal research, and risk assessment. Melissa oversees all of the complex compliance and privacy matters for U.S. based clients. She consults with corporate stakeholders within the background screening space in order to ensure compliance and ethical screening processes and procedures. Melissa’s role will be focused on fostering both new and existing client and partner relationships.
Since joining the background industry, Ms. Foiles has taken an active role in the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS). She spearheaded the Employee Screening Litigation Tracking Group (ESLTG), which researches and compiles much-needed data related to litigation involving the Fair Credit Reporting Act and employment background screening. She has also served as co-chair for the Litigation Avoidance Committee, and now co-chairs the newly created Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Melissa holds several Master’s Degrees in Business Administration, Public Administration, and Information Security Management. Melissa also holds a paralegal certification as well as an Advanced FCRA Certification.
Sonia Perhar joined ISB in 2017 with over 8 years of proven expertise in Human Resource management, pension and benefits, recruitment, training and development, employee relations and employment law. Sonia is a strategy architect in the development of innovative HR initiatives to streamline processes and capitalize on organizational growth opportunities. A creative thinker, problem solver and decision maker who effectively balances the needs of employees with the mission of the organization. Prior to joining Dalton Group, Sonia held HR positions with LSG Group, City of Mississauga and Entertainment One.
Johanna Clifford started with ISB in 2011 as an information specialist and was quickly promoted to the Team Lead of ISB's Employment Background Screening division. She supervises this growing area of business for ISB while also overseeing the maintenance of contractual obligations and PIPEDA compliance. Johanna continues to grow and develop the Employment Background Screening division and has helped customers through contract processes to add value and convenience for our clients.
Brooke started with ISB in July 2018 and has proven to be an invaluable member of the Insurance Services Team. Now Operations Manager, her wide-ranging knowledge of ISB’s clients, products, and processes is an integral part of ISB day-to-day functionality. Also overseeing the Insurance Services Team, she ensures the continuity of high level customer service and the implementation of new processes.
Pamela Beauchamp works out of our Montreal office offering fully bilingual customer service as well as account management. Pamela's role enhances our current bilingual order centre and Quebec customer service offerings signaling ISB's continued commitment to better service our Quebec based clientele.

Wendy Patton has been with ISB since 2010. As ISB’s Manager, Client Service for the Background Screening and MEE divisions, Wendy works closely with the sales team and is the first point of contact for the onboarding of new clients. Wendy also manages the ongoing client relationship with a key focus on maintaining ISB’s high level of customer satisfaction. If Wendy is not with clients you will likely find her representing the company at many of our tradeshows and events.
Harpreet Sidhu began with ISB in August of 2011 and has built as well as maintained ISB's website and ordering platform. Harpreet has been responsible for the development and improvement of ISB's technology and oversees the implementation of processes to improve productivity. Harpreet's work allows ISB to continue to be a competitive and efficient online shop for our customers.
Alex works within our IT team as a .NET Developer. In addition to his programming role, Alex also manages the implementation of new initiatives including our facial recognition APP and new technologies.
